Kigali Training Centre

Kigali Training Centre
The vocational training centre for widows in Rwanda was the home for four widows. They were trained to make Christmas cards out of dried banana leaves but found the task daunting. The activity was given to orphans who showed amazing skills. Cards are still available at fifty pence each. When the opportunity came for the widows to leave the city, the centre was unused for five months. Currently the centre is rented to a married orphan looking after three other orphans and the income used to run two nursery schools.

Bujumbura orphanage
Burundi has been suffering the consequences of the 1993 genocide with little help from the International Community. ACTS supported an orphanage of twenty children until all children were either placed in families through sponsorship or helped to rent places of their own. Three of them have chronic illnesses and therefore expensive to care for. The sum required to comfortably support such an orphan is approximately £300 per year. If you can sponsor a child by making a regular payment to ACTS, please do so. The sum does not have to come from one individual, just commit yourself to what you can give. No doubt we will be encountering more and more cases of trauma, sickness and extreme poverty as we cast the net wide.

Evangelism
We have in the past provided assistance with payment of fees to educate evangelists. Donations were received from individuals keen to respond to the apeals from Africa.
